As a data scientist, you will get to design and develop data-driven products and features. You will learn and employ the latest in data technologies to power these products. You will develop amazing consumer-facing applications as well as our in-house analytics platform.

Responsibilities

• Apply machine learning techniques on Housing’s unique real estate data to come with innovative products and features that will redefine real-estate on web
• Extract and analyze our web usage data to help us decide what features click with the users.
• Design experiments and success metrics to test out new product ideas
• Do ground-breaking work in optimizing logistics of our huge operations team with data-driven optimization algorithms
• Analyze user behavior and develop User Recommendation Systems; come up with new ideas and technologies to wow our users
• Work with product managers and designers to build amazing consumer facing data driven products
• Be responsible to drive our data and technology blogs
• Design and build tools for our Analytics teams

Qualification and Skills Required

• Strong background in Machine Learning, Statistics or Information Retrieval
• Fluency with at least in scripting language such as Python
• Familiarity with relational databases and SQL
• Endless ideas about how to leverage Housing’s unique data set
• Critical thinking: ability to track down complex data and engineering issues, evaluate different algorithmic approaches, and analyze data to solve problems
• Creativity: you can conceive of new data driven products, features, and technologies
• Results: you prioritize, focusing on ideas and features that will have significant, measurable impact
• Planning & estimation: ability to set and meet your own project objectives & milestones
• Ability to coordinate effectively with team members in engineering, design, and product
• Strong computer science fundamentals
• Experience with data analysis & visualization using libraries and tools like R, SciPy, Scikit-learn
• Familiarity with web frameworks like Django a definite plus
• Some experience working with large datasets and NoSQL solutions like Hadoop, MongoDB
