Responsibilities
- Work with teams across business functions to understand challenges, and design data driven solutions to optimize and improve performance
- Use data to identify gaps and opportunities across business functions
- Define key trends, KPIs to communicate to the senior management and other functions
- Develop robust and accurate processes to communicate the same periodically
- Model data for dashboards/reporting/statistical purposes
- Perform ad-hoc analyses that translate into actionable insights
- Contribute to standardization of the data mining processes/statistical methodologies and building a in-house knowledge base
- Engage with BI Vendors/Suppliers as necessary
- Primary responsibility to ensure the quality and integrity of data across the entire spectrum of data collected, analyzed and communicated by the team
Qualification and Skills Required
- Bachelors/Masters degree in a quantitative discipline viz Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering etc
- 2-4 years of experience in a data science role
- Strong understanding of businesses and their operating environments
- Solution-based approach – ability to comprehend fuzzy large scales problems into silos and drive solutions appropriately
- Top class communication, presentation and project management skills
- Understands data modelling
- Proficient in SQL, Excel, other scripting languages
- Hands-on expertise in relevant tools – Business Intelligence(Cognos, BO, Pentaho, Qlikview), Web Analytics (GA, Omniture etc), Statistical (R, SAS, SPSS etc)
- Experience in analyzing very large, complex, multi-dimensional data sets
