Job Description and Responsibilities

The Red Hat Sales Reporting and Analysis team is looking for a Statistical Analyst to join us in Pune, India. In this role, you will manage thorough and ongoing data validation, consolidation, cleansing, and maintenance, and you’ll prepare subsequent data reports and analytics. You’ll also reference and reconcile data across different systems like Salesforce, financial and commissions system, Oracle, etc. As a Statistical Analyst, we’ll need you to be able to turn analysis into data tools that Red Hat can use.

Primary Job Responsibilities
Turn business problems into analytical projects in cooperation with Sales and Services Operations teams
Participate in the planning and strategy of key business projects, using data to inform about decisions
Translate abstract data into a highly-visual and comprehensible formats
Develop machine learning, data mining, and statistical techniques and algorithms to create new, scalable solutions for business problems by analyzing large data sets
Design test experiments that focus on improving customer experience; review, analyze, and share results for process optimization purposes
Manage, analyze, and report key performance metrics through manual and automated data collection methods; ensure quality checks, context review, and associate revisions
Identify opportunities and areas of sub-optimization, and work cross-functionally to design and implement solutions
Participate in various structured and ad hoc planning, analysis, data statistics, and modelling projects
Develop an understanding of Red Hat workflows and policies

Required Skills
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in data science, analytics, statistics, computer science, or math
8+ years of industrial experience in statistical analysis or data mining with industry standard tools like Business Objects (BO), SAS, and SPSS
5+ years of experience in R, Python (Scikit-Learn), or another statistical modeling packages or environment
Excellent data manipulation skills, specifically with tools like SQL, or Pandas
Experience in development of data products using Shiny, Python, or Flask, and basic web
development using HTML, CSS, Java Script, and D3
Ability to work under pressure; willingness to work extended hours during quarter-end or year-end periods
Experience with data visualization tools like SAS Visual Analytics, QlikView, or Tableau
Experience with Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) offerings like OpenShift, CloudFoundry, or Heroku
Ability to understand and transform data to meet the customer’s needs and business context
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to focus on delivering results
Knowledge of Hive and Pig are a plus
Experience in relational database systems and data warehousing systems like SQL Server, Redshift, Oracle, or MySQL is an advantage
