DataHour: Data Science Use Cases
About the Event
It is really surprising how over complicated things get in solving some common problems. Using fundamental statistics and data mining one can find real insights and fraud as well as quantify the same. With first principles, Vijay Rajan(Director of Engineering at Moove.io) was able to tackle some very interesting problems in the last 6 years and in this DataHour he will share his experiences in solving problems and will cover the following points:
- How binomial distribution could help you set policy for RTO and returns in e-commerce?
- How to catch connivance between supply and demand to catch fraud?
- Is the address on the order correct?
- practical applications of Poisson's Process
- How do analysts who work on Power BI, Microstrategy and Tableau make a much bigger impact on business?
- How to automate a lot with data science.
- How to Change the paradigm of querying by querying for insights rather than information.
- Finding interest in time series data
