New Product Forecasting is an approach to forecast new product launches when you don't have sufficient historical data (as the product is just launched).
Most of the organizations follow complicated (and lengthy) manual templates to forecast new products launch.
This approach has the following two issues:
- First issue is manual process and maintenance of complicated manual templates
- Second issue is continuous improvement (as ML is not involved in this approach hence we are not learning from the data).
In this DataHour, Surya will explain the approach to solve new product launches using a data centric approach. He will also provide you with an approach which utilizes past product launch data, and based on past product launches, how you can create launch profiles and using which you can forecast new products.
