The Anatomy of an Agent Loop: From Prompt to Action to Outcome

Hack Session

About the session

Loop engineering is the shift from you being the person who prompts the agent, to you designing the system that does the prompting instead. In this talk, we dissect the full anatomy of an agent loop: automations that surface work on a schedule, worktrees that enable safe parallel execution, skills that preserve project knowledge across runs, sub-agents that split the maker from the checker, and the persistent memory that holds it all together. And we'll be honest about what the loop still doesn't do for you: verification is still on you, comprehension debt grows faster with good loops, and cognitive surrender is the comfortable trap.
