The GBS IT Analyst teams works with business units like Digital Marketing, Sales, etc. to build specifications and requirements for future state of a suite of web applications, enabling the General Mills to maintain a competitive advantage in the market place. Applications and systems from this area continue to continue to evolve year after year.

Responsibilities:

  • Join a talented team of IT Digital Marketing Web Analytics Analysts who are working with the business in providing insights and reports on usage of General Mills Consumer Web Sites
  • Develop custom and ad-hoc web analytics reports and analysis to provide the interactive marketing organization with data and insights
  • Analyze web analytics data trends and customer behavior data to identify opportunities for website enhancements and new internet marketing initiatives
  • Create high-quality presentations based on sound analysis that convey actionable insights to business owners in a clear, persuasive and aesthetic manner
  • Act as administrator of the web analytics tool managing security, configuring reporting, etc…
  • Perform page and content optimization tests using A/B and multivariate testing techniques and tools
  • Monitor the quality and integrity of web analytics data, reports, online dashboards and analytic tools
  • Create measurement plans for websites, campaigns and new website features designed to measure performance against business objectives. Specify tagging syntax and placement using best practices and strategies
  • Conduct data audits to identify tracking gaps/inconsistencies
  • Provide feedback and suggestions on technology and process improvements
  • High level of proficiency in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint

Qualification and Skills Required:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Information Systems or Computer Science
  • 2. 3+ years of experience working with standard web analytics tools such as Google Analytics Enterprise, Adobe Site Catalyst, IBM NetInsight or Webtrends
  • Expert understanding of with Digital / Web Analytics Tools like Google Analytics or IBM Unica Net Insightm
  • Ability to build custom reports within web analytics tools per requirements
  • Proficient at transforming raw data and information into actionable insights and recommendations designed to improve website performance against business objectives
  • Knowledge of using business intelligence data visualization tools such as Tableau or SpotFire would be an significant advantage
  • Ability to use HTTP monitoring tools such as Fiddler or HTTP Debugger
  • Understanding of web analytics tracking tags and syntax (basic as well as specialty and event tags) and the ability to provide developers with tagging implementation direction to capture activity to measure business objectives
  • Experience with A/B and multivariate testing tools, techniques and best practices
  • Knowledge of SEO strategies and best practices
  • Demonstrated commitment to keeping informed of the latest best practices, technologies and web analytics industry trends
  • High initiative with desire to understand the General Mills’ business and a willingness to learn and use multiple tools to solve business problems
  • Passionate about web analytics
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral)
  • Willingness to be flexible with schedule when needed
