The Data Scientist title was fresh and newly coined. The big data industry was growing, the use of AI and ML by companies was picking up, thus creating more jobs in Data Science.

Fast forward today, a decade later, does the sexiest title still hold true ? 

It is now debatable. There has been so much hype and mis -conceptions which ultimately has led to many wrong career decisions.
