Responsibilities
- Strong Experience in Cloudera Hadoop Administration.
- Implement new Hadoop hardware infrastructure
- OS integration and application installation
- HDFS support and maintenance
- Adding/Removing a Node, Data Rebalancing.
- Tuning map reduce jobs
- Partitioning of tables on Hive
- Dropping of parititions
- Installation of Hadoop
- Installation of Hive
- Installation of Sqoop
- Maintaining backups for name node
- Setup of standby name node
- Hadoop Upgrades
- Knowledge of Oracle DBA
- Hands on experience with opens source monitoring tools including; Nagios/Foglight and Ganglia
Qualification and Skills Required
- Degree in CS or equivalent.
- Total Experience of 5+ years with least 3+ Years of experience in Hadoop Administration.
- Experience in Cloudera Hadoop Administration
- Knowledge of Oracle DBA
- Certification/Training:
- Prefer to have CCAH certification.
Other Job-Related Requirements:
- Expected that the candidate can make the daily commute to Bangalore office
- Expected to be on call during production issues.
- Expected to be comfortable working remotely and during Redwood Shores peak hours
