Job description:

Responsibilities

Sustaining critical components of MapR Hadoop platform and other ecosystem projects
Analyze complex customer reported issues that require strong analytical and technical skills
Resolve issues that may require producing enterprise-ready patches or hotfixes
Troubleshoot performance, scalability bottlenecks and suggest solutions
Work with support/QA/Engineering teams through the entire lifecycle of product/patch releases
Review code, suggest suitable API to customers and write technical articles/blogs as a part of Developer Support
Assist in developing support tools for business integration and for monitoring purpose

Qualification and Skills Required

5+ years of solid experience in Java/J2EE technologies
Strong Java background building or sustaining enterprise-grade systems software
Experience in contributing/sustaining the Apache Hadoop OSS is a huge plus.
Experience in building and troubleshooting multi-threaded scalable and distributed systems
Competent working in Linux development environment and troubleshooting issues
Self-motivated, independent and high-performance individual. Passionate about learning new technologies
Proficiency with Big Data processing technologies (HBase, Cassandra, other NoSQL solutions)
Familiarity with Hadoop stack, such as MapReduce, YARN, HDFS, Hive, Pig, Oozie, Flume, Sqoop, Zookeeper
Bachelor’s in computer science (BE/BTech/MCA) or equivalent, Masters (ME/MTech) preferred
